I have spent the last month trying to explain the voting process to Ava. I think she gets it for the most part. She watched me fill out my ballot then drop it off. I told her who was running and showed her pictures. I asked her who she would vote for she said Obama when I asked why she said "because he is brown like me". Yeah. Well that is not how you choose our next president but I guess at 4 that is the only thing she can identify with. I told her this morning that Obama will be our new president. Yea! she said I voted right. I then asked her if she knew who our old president was. She said John McCain?
Maybe the next election will be easier to explain.

OMG, Ava and Mariah both said the EXACT same thing about voting for B. Obama!! YEP, she was voting for him cuz he has skin like her and daddy!! AND when she found out that he is our top leader, she too was very excited!!! CUTE!!
