Their house

As of 3pm today this place, this glorious place is no longer our home. It’s Ben and Stephanie’s home. I could not have imagined a better couple to take care of this place I love so much. I know they will create a beautiful future here. Starting in July! I get a few more months. Damn I’m gonna miss my kitchen.

I have four pieces in this show that opens this weekend at the Hot Shops in Omaha. I was able to switch my days off so I will be there! Stop by if you can.

Ava is Five!

My baby turned 5 on Friday. She is 44 1/2 inches tall, 44 lbs and a little too smart for her own good. 

We had a nice simple Cat in the Hat birthday party for her. She still loves the Cat in the hat (you might remember her Halloween costume) so I really wanted her to have something fun for her party. We decided to let a professional do the cake this year, Erika from the Chocolate Season created a great Hat cake made of white cake with strawberry filling! Ava received many wonderful gifts from her friends and family. She is a lucky girl, but I think we are luckier to have such a great baby, ahem I mean, kid.

Oh and the super cute "5" shirt Ava is wearing at her party was made by my friend Megan!  I know I have the greatest friends EVER!

Swimsuit 2009

We are ready for summer!  Mar picked out the sunglasses to match her suit.  Hopefully this years suit will fit all summer (unlike last year!) I will have pictures of Ava and her new suit later.

Soon to be 5

Little Miss Ava will be 5 on March 27th.  If you read this blog you know that last year she asked for a cow.  She was showered with cow stuff, cards, magazines, puppets, ice cream bowls, clothes you name it she got it.  I don't think she cared that she never got a real cow.  This year is  a little different.  She wants a Trumpet.  Yeah.  Do they make little people Trumpets?  I thought of all the instruments in the world she might pick the drums (Papa plays the drums) or guitar, maybe even the violin.  The Trumpet.  She also wants to start a family band in which we all would have a part.  I will play the Xylophone I have been told.  

The girl knows what she wants

A couple of weeks ago we were at Target, they were celebrating Dr Seuss's birthday.  All the Target "team members" were wearing Cat in the Hat style hats, they were reading books and doing face painting.  While I checked out Donnie took the girls over to check out the activities.  Ava opted to get her face painted.  When the girl asked what she wanted painted on her face she said "CAT IN THE HAT!".  Donnie said the girl looked worried and asked if a rainbow might be better.  No. Ava wanted the Cat in the Hat.  So Ava got the hat without the cat.  I bet you can't guess what kind of birthday party Ava will be having this month?
