TGIF

Today was a good day. We woke up at 6:30am. We ate cereal. We watched The Big Comfy Couch. AND the thing we wait all week to do, we went to garage sales to buy crap we do not need. Today’s purchase you ask? Marbles. Antique (or at least that is what the guy told me) marbles. I know nothing about marbles I don’t even know how to play marbles. So what am I gonna do with them? Take pictures of them. Look for them on my Flicker page (see the link to your right…). In the mean time look at this lovely shot of miss nay with flowers (at the garage sale). What a sweet kid!

Demolition has begun. Godspeed.

Tuesday they began ripping apart my 10X10 kitchen to make it the Art Deco masterpiece I have always dreamed of. Well not really, but it will be the best it can be for our budget. Demo has taken a little longer than expected. The drywall was covering a nice thick layer of plaster and lath. There appear to be about 6 layers of flooring. Greg (our carpenter, plumber, electrician, psychologist etc…) has his work cut out for him between my constant questions and the animals darting through the plastic. I am certain one of the pets will croak from eating lead paint chips. Anyway so far so good. Pray for us. and Greg.

Summer Arts

This morning we went to the summer arts festival. We ran into lots of friends and relatives, the weather was perfect, and Ava had her first experience with a port-a-potty!

Fathers Day

This year Donnie was an extra good daddy so Ava bought him new golf clubs for Fathers day. Donnie has decided to save his old set for Ava. The kid doesn't have a chance!

Picnic!

Each year the Child Saving institute has a picnic for adoptive and foster families at mahoney state park. We always see the horses and eat lots of chicken. Good times!

Amana, IA

Ok so I know it's been a while since I have posted anything so we will play a little catchup today. First we went Amana, IA a few weeks ago and had a lovely time. I went down my first water slide and Ava had her first beer. Ok it was a rootbeer but a darn good one! We did a little damage at the outlet mall there and avoided the rain as much as possible. Overall a good trip. I'm ready for another one!

Girls want to have fun too!

This weekend was the first (and hopefully not the last) girls weekend. Every year the boys (Dad, brothers and nephews) get together and go camping for a weekend. This year the girls decided we wanted to have fun too. So grandma, the sisters (and sisters-in-law) and nieces and a few nephews had a huge slumber party at aunt Janie in Columbus. We went bowling (Ava bowled a 96, higher than aunt Margaret!) we ate pizza, played games, ate chips, drank margaritas & pop, survived a few tantrums and even slept a few hours. It was a fun time had by all. Next time however we will have to fly in crazy Aunt Mary and Barb & Sydney.

PaPa's birthday

Friday was my dad's birthday so we met him and Lorrie at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. What a great way to start off a fun filled weekend. Happy birthday PaPa!! We love you!
