10 hours!

Yes it's true that is how long Amari slept the last 2 nights! Fluke? Maybe but we got some much needed sleep!!! Miss Mar is now 71 days old, 23 inches long, 13lbs 10.5 oz and eating us out of house and home. Miss Nay is 1,335 days old, 42 inches long, 39lbs 5oz and bossy. However both like to smile a lot. And what great smiles they have!

Each year Donnie and his brother Kenny decorate sugar cookies and the women decide which are the best. Usually Donnie comes away with the win but this year our niece Regan was declared the big winner!

Nothing says happy holidays like a double homicide. Working in the Crime Lab has become more and more challenging. It’s a struggle to keep my family life and work life separate. Today was hard. I worked until 5am (thankfully I didn’t have to go to the scene of the crime.) came home, slept for a bit and woke up to Ava yelling in my ear that Santa had come and left lots of stuff! Once I came down stairs to see the piles of presents under our skinny tree I totally forgot about the mess I left at work just left 2.5 hours earlier. She was so excited to open her presents (and Amari’s) the oohs and ahhhs were great to hear. There were a few tears, it’s hard for her to accept that not all of the presents were for her. Overall I think everyone in our house was happy with what Santa brought for them. Most of all I was happy to be home with my family on Christmas day even if it was only for a few hours. I hope you all had a great Christmas too!

Cinderella?

Donnie and I splurged on a new vacuum for each other for Christmas. Who knew it would be so fun to clean. Ava loves doing the hard surface floors. Now I just need to teach her to fold laundry!
