Not long ago my good friend Amy and her family were in town from Ohio.  We were able to spend a few hours together.  The kids played, the moms drank Mojitos and the dad Brian kept everyone in line (Donnie was at work).  Good times!

A lot can happen in 9 months.  I can't even remember what it was like to have an 8lb baby.  Miss Mar is crawling and pulling herself up on the furniture, she has 2 teeth, and is finally eating some fruits.  I think she is weighing in at around 23 lbs but we haven't gone to the doctor yet.  I hope the next 9 months don't go this fast.

It's A Boy

Why would I do this to my child you ask? Well I hope to get it published in a book. This shot is not “the one” but I thought it funny nonetheless.
Who knows is she will ever appreciate my odd sense of humor, it will either make her a funny person or terribly bitter.

Sick Puppy

The Saturday we returned from Colorado I noticed Maddie was acting a little weird. She wouldn’t run around or go up the stairs. We checked her paws and looked for any broken bones. Nothing.
She wasn’t any better on Sunday so I called the doctor. We went in where she was thoroughly checked over.

"She probably has a pinched nerve." they said. "We will give her a shot and some pain pills. She should take it easy for a while no running up stairs or jumping. If she isn’t better at the end of the treatment period we will recommend an orthopedic surgeon. Hopefully she won’t need surgery."

WHA? Surgery? I can not afford surgery for my DOG! After adoptions, new kitchens, busted fences and flattened trees, surgery for my dog was very low on my finical list of things to do.
Lucky for me, Maddie seems to be doing well but then again she is still on pain meds.

Ava has taken great joy in caring for her. This is how I found her in the living room after her doctor visit. She is in good hands.

Larry Harmon, longtime Bozo the Clown, dead at 83

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Larry Harmon, who appeared as Bozo the Clown for decades and licensed the name to other Bozos around the world, has died at age 83.
Harmon died Thursday at his home of congestive heart failure, his longtime publicist, Jerry Digney, told The Associated Press.
Although not the first person to play Bozo, Harmon took on the famous clown's persona and, as an entrepreneur, he licensed the character to others, particularly TV stations. Those stations then recruited their own Bozos for local shows.
Harmon met his alter ego after answering a casting call to make personal appearances as a clown to promote records. He got the job and eventually bought the rights to Bozo.
Along the way, he embellished Bozo's distinctive look: the orange-tufted hair, the bulbous nose, the outlandish red, white and blue costume.
