The front yard is pretty much done. Now if we win the lottery we may put in a new patio and walkway but not this year. Hopefully we can get to the backyard next year too!

Productive Monday
Today we worked outside when I say we I mean Donnie. He got the 1 ton of rock put down as well as the huge pile of mulch. He put in a few flowers, moved the hostas and swept up all 18 billion helicopter seeds. I will show you photos of the completed project but not until I finish my flower bed around the NEW tree. In the mean time here are a few photos of the girls. Amari spent the day chewing on her hands and watching Donnie. Ava found a tiny green caterpillar she named Greenie then later stepped on. RIP Greenie. Happy Holidas everyone!
The Azalea lives!

I have mentioned this before but each year for mothers’ day I receive a plant. First year was a rose bush, second year an Azalea, third year a Hydrangea, forth year a Hibiscus tree and this year a topiary. This spring I was concerned. I have managed to keep all of my plants alive up to this point. My Azalea was looking tough. Everyone’s had bloomed and mine was brown. This week it came alive it’s the fullest it’s ever been. So beautiful! Now we need to worry about the Hibiscus tree.
Stormy Weather II
This weekend was Donnie’s 15 year high school reunion. We traveled to Humphrey NE where we exchanged photos and stories with the other 12 members of his class. Well, 10 made it back. We skipped the alumni dinner and went to Norfolk to have dinner with our good friends Michael and Jen. On the way we saw several people standing on the side of the road gazing off into the sky. Then we saw the “Tank” and realized that they were storm chasers. I prayed that they made the trip for nothing cuz I really wanted that steak dinner. Not only did I get my steak dinner but we were also able to enjoy the evening at a friends farm, complete with bon fire, tractor and keg!

The Garden?

A few weeks ago we all went to Mulhall’s nursery to look at trees and plants. I told Ava she could pick out some seeds to plant in our “garden”. Her first choice was Bok Choy. Since I don’t even know what that is I made some other suggestions. She ended up with corn, mini pumpkins, onion, cucumbers, roma tomatoes and yellow peppers. So lay your bets we will see what survives through the summer and actually produces some fruit.
Happy Mothers Day!

This year for mother’s day I did not have to work (first time ever!) I did however have to work the evening before. I came home at 12:30am to find a HOMEMADE lemon cake with icing and a beautiful topiary sitting on the dining room table. Oh and Donnie was hiding in the kitchen with a large knife just waiting to cut the cake, I don’t recommend anyone hiding in my kitchen with a knife. Anyway it was a GOOD cake. I was most impressed. The topiary is really cool tool fingers crossed I won’t kill it.

Dead dog walking.
My sweet little hound dog was put to death yesterday. He did not pass the test. He tried to attack other dogs. I can't save them all. I couldn't even save this one. Rest in peace my little hound doggie. Poor thing.

Puppy Love!

I'm on a call today, a large (stolen) truck hit a bridge in North O. The whole time I'm taking pictures of the scene there is this dog running around peeking at me from behind the trees. I'm a little nervous at first because I have run into plenty of dogs that were not so friendly. So I ask the officer that is with me about the dog. He said the dog had been there for the last hour and the Humane society had even come out to try and capture him but were unable to. So I do my best Cesar Millan (http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/) and the dog comes to me. He licks me, nuzzles me, and begs me to take him home. So I tell my husband there is this sweet dog he is so good. He is small, he is some type of hound mix, and he’s soooo cute! Please I say. I already knew what the answer was. So as soon as hell freezes over my puppy will come home to me! Yea right. Oh well the Humane society has my name so if the dogs "owner" doesn’t come to get him I will be searching for a good home for him. Someone buy me an acreage so Ava can have her cow and I can have my doggies!
