Mari's first hair cut

it took me two years and two months but I finally got Mari a good trim. She did pretty good. We had lots of suckers!

Merry Christmas

I'm a little out of it. I'm tired of being cooped up in this house. Here are a few pix from Christmas morning.

Tis the Season

Sunday we headed to my friend Jerry's place Frosty Pines to pick out a Christmas tree. We haven't had a real tree in a very long time and I think the last one came from some Home Depot parking lot. It was a little cold but the girls had fun running around exploring trying to find the perfect tree. We found an 8ft tree! We never would have had one that large in the old house. It's very simple and pretty I think. We decorated it with white lights and wooden Santas. I put up the old tree in the TV room decorated with all the cheesy ornaments. The girls are sure to rearrange the little tree but no touching the real one!

Oh and by the way if you want a real tree I would suggest going to Frosty Pines. $35 bucks gets you any tree you want and if you tell Jerry that Tiffany sent you he may just offer you a beer.

Halloween Night

I had to work on Halloween so Donnie got the girls dressed and took them around the new neighborhood. We have lots of candy! Thankfully the people at work are happy to eat some of it for us!

Mari is TWO!

On October 19th our "little" baby turned two. We went to the pumpkin patch, opened presents and had some store bought cake. Miss Mar had her 2 year check up last week. She is 35 lbs, 37 inches tall and falls in the 99th percentile in all areas. She still doesn't say a whole lot but she is very bright and can always figure how to get what she wants. She has done nothing but bring us joy for the last 24 months. I can't remember life before her. She is a blessing.

Ava eats an oyster

A couple of weeks ago we went to Shucks for dinner. Donnie insisted on getting a few oysters. I don't like them. But Ava ate one no problem, only off of a fork however, she didn't want to touch it. She then gave the "thumbs up" of approval.

Ava news

This morning was the first day of kindergarden (sniff, sniff). Ava was very excited to go. Amari was MAD that we work her up so early. Oh well hopefully all goes well today. Last Friday Ava went to the hair salon to get her first real hair cut. I know I'm a little delayed in doing this. But I had to take pictures of it. She did a great job allowing Curtis to comb cut and blow dry her hair. Now I need to learn to braid. I think we will have to get Amari's cut soon too it's a little unruly. So much hair to deal with!

Patio

This is what a $12,000 patio looks like (at least that is what the bid said). Yeah right. Donnie worked his tail off the last 2 weekends putting this patio together. It was a lot of work! It's not quite finished yet but I think he has done a fantastic job. Hopefully we will have a nice little party on it someday.

A quiet Sunday

What do we do on a quiet Sunday while daddy is working hard on the new patio? Take pictures, dance, read books and other goofy things. Miss Ava starts kindergarden in 16 days and I'm freaking out a little bit. She is thrilled. I will survive I guess. I will upload photos of the patio in progress later.
