Ava turned 6 years old today. We told her that we would go out to eat wherever she wanted to go. She chose La Mesa. I think she remembered going there and seeing them bring out the big sombrero and clap and hoot & holler for birthdays. Greg (papa) & Lori came up to Omaha and we did lunch. Tiff and I may or may not have had a margarita before noon.
Tiffany made a 3-tiered cake and icing and I decorated it. It was very tasty. Notice the fingered smudge marks on the bottom layer.....not Amari's.....Tiffany's. The icing is fat free.....er wait....its basically straight crisco. Ava has loved The Princess & the Frog ever since she went to a birthday party at the movie theatre several months ago for her friend Carly Kessler. One of her gifts was the DVD, so guess how I will be spending my saturday night.
Ava also got her hair braided this morning for the first time. Nice corn rows. I wasnt there but Tiff tells me there was wimpering and maybe a few tears. I think they are going back in a few days to get her ears pierced. Warning...cliche forthcoming....They grow up so fast.
